Dr. Vincent D’Acunto is a sports rehabilitation expert with nearly a decade of experience keeping athletes healthy, on the field, and performing at their best. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training & Sports Medicine from Towson University in 2016 and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Dominican University in 2023.

Before joining Positive Sports Physical Therapy, Dr. Vin built a career centered on high-level athlete care. He spent years working with high school and collegiate athletes as both a head athletic trainer and physical therapist, developing and delivering evidence-based programs to prevent injuries, manage acute issues, and guide athletes back to peak performance. As the Head Athletic Trainer at Plainedge High School, he oversaw the health and performance of hundreds of athletes, coordinating everything from on-field emergency care to advanced return-to-play protocols. His work in multiple outpatient sports medicine facilities further refined his expertise, giving him deep experience with athletes across sports and competitive levels from weekend warriors to Division I athletes.

A former baseball and football player himself, Dr. Vin understands the demands of training and competition, as well as the physical and mental challenges of injury recovery. He is widely regarded for his skill in managing complex ACL and other ligament injuries, guiding athletes from surgery through advanced return-to-sport testing and beyond. His clinical focus includes orthopedic post-operative rehab, progressive return-to-sport programming, and performance optimization tailored to the unique demands of each athlete and sport.

When he is not in the clinic, you will find Dr. Vin running, building and upgrading his home gym, spending time with family and friends, and passionately cheering on the Mets and Jets.
